Thirteen Maastrichtian-Paleogene Rotaliid benthic foraminiferal species belong to eleven genera from two countries in the Southern Tethys (Egypt and Argentina) have been studied. The modern taxonomical consideration of these species is used and are believed here as new. Ten species of these assemblage were recorded from Egypt (about 77 %), and the other 3 species from Argentina (about 23%). Most of the recorded species from Egypt (Bolivinoides ayyadi, Stainforthia eddakhlensis, S. taramsaensis, Bulimina dababiyaensis, Globobulimina misrensis, Euuvigerina ahmadi, E. helali, Fursenkoina misrensis, F. sinaensis and Nonionella dababiyaensis), while the others from Argentina (Ellipsoglandulina argentinica, Pleurostomella abedi, and Valvulineria nabilae). The foraminiferal assemblages of the Southern Tethys indicates an open marine environment which represents both mixture of two assemblages: Midway-type fauna (MF) and Velasco-type fauna (VF) environments.
